About the Programme
RMIT’s Bachelor of Engineering (Electronic and Computer Systems Engineering) (Honours) (Top-up) programme will enable you to find better solutions to challenges in the construction, design and maintenance of communication and network systems, electronic hardware, embedded systems and firmware development.
This could include audio and visual information acquisition, automation of electrical and electronic systems, digital signal processing, distributed computing, human-machine interaction, industrial or medical instrumentation and monitoring, provision of security for computer systems and networks, and reconfigurable logic development.
You will learn to design and build devices and systems that transfer and store information via optical fibre transmissions or radio frequency, and manage and secure the flow of information through such systems.
For a complete industry-relevant experience*, students will get to spend time at the RMIT University campus in Melbourne, Australia, to gain hands-on experience. Students will also have access to a wide range of state-of-the-art laboratory facilities at the campus linked to the programme. Furthermore, students will benefit from field trips to RMIT’s industry partners^.
*Students will be responsible for covering the cost of their own travel and accommodation expenses for the residential visit to RMIT Melbourne.

Students who successfully complete and pass the modules stipulated in the programme structure will be awarded the Bachelor of Engineering (Electronic and Computer Systems Engineering) (Honours) from RMIT University, Australia.
The Degree will be the same as that awarded to the on-campus graduates in Australia.

Admission CriteriaAcademic Requirements
This Degree programme accepts the following qualifications, which includes:
- A recognised 3-year Polytechnic Diploma or an Advanced Diploma in communication, computer, electronic or network engineering, or any closely related engineering discipline*.
- Any other qualifications and work experience will be assessed on a case-by-case basis by RMIT. Relevant work experience includes engineering practice or technical roles that support engineering practice.
- Bridging modules are available to applicants who are unable to provide evidence of competence in Mathematics. Applicants may be offered a conditional offer subject to passing the relevant bridging module(s).
*Successful applicants are granted module exemptions, equivalent to 2 years of the 4-year programme. As such, all qualifications are assessed in terms of their equivalence to the first 2 years of the 4-year programme.
English Language RequirementsApplicants whose first language is not English or the core language of instruction at their home institution is not in English and are not from an RMIT-recognised English speaking country are required to demonstrate a satisfactory level of English language proficiency with IELTS (Academic) of 6.5 (no band less than 6.0) or equivalent.
